Roy Dixon BDS MA MGDS RCSI General Dental Practitioner
GDC Number 61849
“I am extremely lucky as I enjoy my job. Everyone assumes that looking in peoples’ mouths all day must be horrible, but that is because they imagine what their own mouths must be like. The joy of dentistry is the taking patients on a journey to achieve the confident, healthy smile they deserve. I am delighted that I have finally realised my vision in opening Augusta Dental Centre; I am now able to deliver quality dentistry in a caring environment, where the practice ethos is simply the pursuit of excellence.”
Roy qualified from Guy's Dental Hospital, London, in December 1986. He was awarded an Army Dental Cadetship for the last two years of his dental studies and on graduation he was commissioned into the Army. He completed his officer training at RMA Sandhurst and enjoyed a varied and challenging career with postings in the UK and Germany. He completed operational tours in Northern Ireland and Bosnia and, in 2003, as Commanding Officer, he deployed his Field Hospital to the recent Gulf conflict. One of his rewarding experiences was becoming a Vocational Trainer to a newly qualified dentist. Roy continued to develop his professional skills and in 2001 was awarded, by examination, Membership in General Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
Roy left the Army after 19 years service and joined a group of practices in Harley Street, London, as the Clinical Director. He continues to work in developing younger dentists as a tutor in the Central London Group. In July 2004 he moved to the Centre for Excellence in Dentistry in Birmingham and has continued to develop his special interest in cosmetic and implant dentistry.
Roy is now enjoying a more stable family life with Elaine, Alice and Guy. Casting the odd fly for salmon and trout and enjoying rugby as a spectator.

Dr Sheila Glaze

Dr Sheila Glaze is our lead practitioner in injectable facial aesthetics. A Harley Street trained general and cosmetic dental surgeon with more than 20 years experience, Sheila is an expert in facial anatomy. She trained in the use of facial aesthetics and restorative treatments in 2003/4 and sees facial aesthetics as a natural professional progression alongside dentistry.
Having worked in both the NHS and private sectors Sheila set up and ran two practices - one a multi-disciplinary practice incorporating alternative therapies, prior to taking a break to spend more time with her family. Her practice was featured in ‘Bella’ and ‘Marie Clare’ magazines. In 2006 she won a ‘Private Dentistry’ award and she has written articles for Aesthetic Dentistry. Sheila achieved Denplan Excel accreditation in 2010 when she moved back to Warwickshire.
Sheila’s practical hands-on approach to involving patients in every step of their treatment planning has gained her appreciation and loyalty from patients, colleagues and other professionals. She prides herself on gaining the confidence of her patients and finds helping them to enhance their appearance and quality of life ‘enormously rewarding’.
Outside of work Sheila enjoys interior design, DIY and keeping fit at the gym.
Dr Sven-Erik Steinborn Specialist Oral Surgeon
GDC Number 108442
“I feel like a globetrotter. I'm interested in foreign countries and their people. Influenced by my parents' house, I have travelled far and wide since then and mixed repeatedly with different cultures. Since my youth I have always been fascinated with the English way of life through our English friends. I have continually searched for new professional challenges and found in Roy Dixon, a reliable friend and colleague with whom I would like to put together my goals.
An important part of our practice concept is a prevention system that is applied consistently to prevent 90% of dental decay and gum disease. Attention to the smallest detail is the ‘alpha and omega’ of successful treatment. Whether it is improving oral health through prevention, the precision placement of implants or the production of dentures: we can provide proper function and achieve an aesthetic impact to open up new qualities of life for all of our patients.
I am an open and warm person. I love to reach out to others and appreciate each individual. I like to see people when they are happy and laugh.
My studies have developed the conviction that two factors are really important to me:
- The maintenance of healthy teeth for as long as possible
- An aesthetic tooth image that highlights the individual character of people
This goal can only be achieved by continuous training and qualifications. After my studies of medicine and dentistry in Munich; I completed my specialist training in Bremen and I am registered with The General Dental Council (UK) as a ''Specialist in Oral Surgery''. I have also completed a ''MSc in Periodontology'', from the Danube University, Austria.
These efforts have cost plenty of time, personal commitment, energy and funds; a mission that has been really worthwhile. Without the support of my team and not least of my family, Renate and Helen, this philosophy could not be realized. Today I can say with pride that many of my patients benefit from these investments.”
